I was born and raised in central California. My parents brought me up on good music and a love for physical activity. I began playing in bands in high school and learned from others around me that shared a passion for music and expression. I attended college in Santa Barbara, CA, where I played in several bands and began working with sound systems. I explored the depths of music and my soul through improvisation and exploration of my instrument while playing in Neutral, Perimeter, Ether, and The Mobile Engineer’s Layout Union. In late 2002, I moved just North of San Francisco to continue pursuing a career in the music business. I began playing music with Jason in 2004 and knew that I had discovered the beginnings of a life long musical project. When Dave joined us later, the trio was complete, and our adventures began.
My playing is a combination of influences from jazz, classical, heavy metal, jam bands, blue grass, and, of course, the many genres of rock. I began collecting effects pedals 15 years ago, and I use many today. I focus on the instrument as a vehicle for sound rather than notes, though I love a good melody just the same. My setup includes 3 amplifiers and 3 pedal boards that are used in countless combinations to conjure just the right sound for any given part.
I married a beautiful Yoga teacher and healthy living guru (Sarah) in 2010. I am a touring sound engineer, studio engineer, and sound system designer. I practice Yoga and enjoy working out, eating healthy, and hiking in the beautiful mountains of California.
