THE MYTH

A human lemniscate arranged in highly structured arrays of molecular information and experience; an experiment; a multi-dimensional perception of the subtle, intense, immense, and familiar sensation called self; a personal mythology; an enigmatic entity born into this awareness as a healer and warrior-brave; everything; nothing; a simple yet complex process unfolding; the balance of profundity in the profane; an intention blossoming the embodiment of light; an individual in the infinite parade

THE MEMOIRS

Someone once told me that I chose my parents wisely. Considering the relativity of time-space, I don't doubt the possibility of having such choice before my biological conception and subsequent birth. As koans often suggest, when possibilities are pondered, channels begin to open that may have otherwise remained closed. At least, I certainly would not be who I am today without my lineage. DNA is a powerful substance! Seemingly, everything had to exist exactly as it did in order for me to be here exactly as I am now. I entered into this world on the West coast of Southern California in the early afternoon of an October's Monday. I am human, yet I am unable to fully describe what that means.

Regardless, I know why I am here.

I have had a romance with music since I can remember. The influences are numerous. My experiences range from growing up with a piano in the house to playing trumpet for school band to being the keyboardist and back-up guitarist for an Elvis impersonator to performing solo as an acoustic singer/songwriter to composing experimental electronic soundscapes in various computer programs to being the bassist for an alternative rock project to accompanying theatrical performers on hand drums and percussion to where I am now with Aegis Integer.

To me, music is the language beyond words and is one of my preferred modes of communication.

My musical pursuits have paralleled my undergraduate and graduate endeavors in Psychology, Consciousness Studies, and Dream Studies. These interests revolve around cross-cultural practices for accessing awareness and healing through methods such as intention, meditation, dream incubation, breathing, drumming, fasting, and so forth. I consider myself to be a musician, performing artist, and researcher of consciousness. In other lifetimes, perhaps I was a priest or spirit doctor--or, simply, an olive farmer. To nourish myself and my relationship to nature, I enjoy practices such as vegetarian cooking, sustainability, dream work, chi gong, artistic/creative process, collaborative effort, drumming, compassion, and life itself.
